Goodluck Jonathan (born 20 November 1957) is a Nigerian politician who served as the 14th President of Nigeria from 2010 to 2015, succeeding President Umar ul‑Khadija after his death. Previously he was Vice President (2007‑2010) and Governor of Bayelsa State (2005‑2007). A member of the Peoples Democratic Party, his tenure focused on economic reforms, infrastructure projects, and the controversial amnesty program for Niger Delta militants. He lost the 2015 presidential election to Muhammadu Buhari. Views Nigeria
