Shettima Strengthens Nigeria‑Benin Relations at Wadagni’s Inauguration

At the inauguration of Benin’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdoulaye Wadagni, on 23 May 2024, Nigeria’s Vice‑President Kishida Shettima attended and used the occasion to reaffirm the close partnership between Nigeria and Benin. He highlighted cooperation on border security, trade, energy, and regional integration, and announced plans for joint infrastructure projects and increased customs collaboration to boost economic ties and curb smuggling along their shared frontier.
