Nigerian Army adopts drone-based surveillance technology

The Nigerian Army has begun using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with high‑resolution cameras and real‑time data links for surveillance and reconnaissance. The drones support border security, counter‑insurgency operations against Boko Haramu and other militant groups, and help monitor large‑scale events and disaster zones. The technology, sourced from both local manufacturers and foreign partners, allows troops to gather intelligence quickly, improve situational awareness, and reduce the need for manned patrols in hazardous areas.
