NPA Chief Highlights Outdated Port Infrastructure in West
The NPA (National Ports Authority) chief highlighted that many of West Africa’s ports suffer from outdated infrastructure—cranes, berths and cargo‑handling equipment are aging, road and rail links are insufficient, and digital systems are lagging—leading to congestion, longer turnaround times and higher costs for shippers. He called for urgent investment in modern equipment, better hinterland connections and upgraded IT systems to improve efficiency and competitiveness. Views Nigeria
