NIMASA’S Renewed Push Against Maritime Crimes
NIMASA (Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency) has intensified its campaign to curb maritime crimes such as piracy, illegal fishing, oil theft and smuggling in Nigerian waters. The agency has deployed more patrol vessels, upgraded surveillance technology, and increased cooperation with the Nigerian Navy, the International Maritime Organization and neighboring coastal states. It is also conducting joint operations, training crews, and enforcing stricter licensing and reporting requirements for vessels to protect the country’s maritime resources and trade routes.
