Japan imposes stricter documentation requirements for student visas
Japan’s Ministry of Justice announced that, beginning April 2025, applicants for student visas must submit additional documentation to prove the legitimacy of their studies and financial support. Required papers now include a detailed enrollment verification letter from the educational institution, a certified copy of the school’s accreditation, proof of tuition payment or a bank statement showing sufficient funds for at least one year, and a signed guarantee from a Japanese sponsor (if applicable).
