Itsekiri Group Rejects INEC’s New Ward and Polling

The Itsekiri Development Union (IDU) and other Itsekiri groups in Delta State publicly rejected the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) recent ward‑boundary and polling‑unit re‑demarcation plan, saying it would split traditional Itsekiri communities, dilute their voting strength and violate the 1999 Constitution’s provisions on minority rights.
