FCC to enforce sanctions for recruitment violations
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced that it will begin imposing monetary sanctions on broadcast stations and other licensees that violate the “recruitment” rules of the FCC’s political advertising regulations. Under these rules, stations must give equal airtime to all legally qualified candidates for the same office when they sell or provide airtime for political ads.
