Elumelu says Africa shouldabandon a victim mindset.

In a recent interview, Nigerian entrepreneur and philanthropist Tony Elumandel (often referred to as “Elumelu”) urged Africans to drop a “victim mindset.” He argued that continual reliance on external aid and blaming historical injustices hampers innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth. Elumelu emphasized that Africa must focus on self‑reliance, leverage its youthful population, invest in education and technology, and create an environment where private sector solutions drive development, rather than waiting for foreign assistance or blaming past colonisation.
