eid el kabir
Eid al‑Kabir, also known as Eid al‑Adha (“Festival of the Greater Sacrifice”), is the Islamic holiday commemorating the willingness of the Prophet Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. Celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu l‑Hijja, the last month of the Islamic lunar calendar, it coincides with the annual Hajj pilgrimage. Muslims worldwide perform special prayers, sacrifice an animal (usually a sheep, goat, cow, or camel), and distribute the meat to family, friends, and the needy. The festival marks the end of the Hajj rites and lasts for up to four days. Views Nigeria
