US Imposes New Sanctions on Iran

In April 2024 the United States announced a new round of sanctions targeting Iran’s nuclear‑related activities and its support for militant groups. The measures, issued by the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), freeze the assets of several Iranian individuals, companies and entities involved in uranium enrichment, missile development and the financing of Hezbollah and Hamas. The sanctions also prohibit U.S. persons from conducting transactions with the designated parties and require foreign banks to block any U.S.-linked assets tied to them.
