Liverpool manager Arne Slot said that both he and Mohamed Salah are focused on the club’s best interests and are working toward securing Champions League qualification.

After Salah posted on social media, suggesting the team’s style of play needed a return to “heavy metal football,” Slot responded on the club’s website, noting the squad has trained well and that there are no unresolved issues between him and the forward.

“I don’t know if it had an impact on the group. What I have seen is the team has trained really well this week, and we hope to continue that level in the next two days so we are well prepared,” Slot said.

“Mo and I share the same interest – we want the best for this club. We want the club to be as successful as possible. We were both part of giving the fans their first league title in five years, but we are also aware of this season,” he added.

“What we want, what he wants, and what I want is for the club to be as successful as last season. That is my main focus now because the game on Sunday could give us a strong base heading into next season. That is where we should focus.”

Slot then indicated that the winger is likely to feature this weekend as he aims to give supporters a proper farewell after the social media post sparked much discussion.
