To strengthen road safety awareness and curb traffic accidents, the Road Safety Officers’ Wives Association (ROSOWA) in Ogun State carried out a road safety sensitisation event at Kuto Motor Park in Abeokuta on Saturday.

The initiative was headed by Mrs. Morenikeji Ogunjobi, wife of the Ogun Sector Commander and Chairperson of ROSOWA.

Addressing motorists, commercial drivers, passengers, and other road users, Mrs. Ogunjobi stressed the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and practicing responsible driving.

She pointed out that many traffic crashes could be avoided if road users strictly followed established safety standards.

The session highlighted key road safety issues such as speeding, reckless driving, overloading, mobile‑phone use while driving, driving under the influence of alcohol, and the necessity of wearing seat belts.

Participants were also informed about the importance of regular vehicle maintenance and strict compliance with traffic signs and rules.

ROSOWA members engaged attendees through interactive discussions and public enlightenment sessions designed to raise awareness and promote safer driving habits.

They encouraged road users to practice patience, discipline, tolerance, and courtesy on the roads.

Mrs. Ogunjobi reiterated ROSOWA’s commitment to supporting the Federal Road Safety Corps in its public enlightenment campaigns and advocacy programmes aimed at saving lives and preventing road crashes.
