Rockefeller Foundation Receives Over $350 Million to Reach 731 Million People

The Rockefeller Foundation has released its 2025 impact report, Big Bets, Real Results, outlining the Foundation’s work for the year. The report focuses on major initiatives such as Universal Energy Abundance and Regenerative School Meals worldwide, aiming to accelerate the deployment of frontier technology, community-driven models, and data-driven decision‑making across its core focus areas.

Despite a volatile global environment and a historic decline in international aid, the 113‑year‑old philanthropic organization awarded more than $350 million, mobilized $3 billion directly, and funded $133,166,945 across 66 projects in Africa—reaching 731 million people worldwide.

The report emphasizes how African‑led partnerships and innovative solutions are contributing to disease‑outbreak prevention through strengthened laboratory networks, addressing food insecurity and agricultural resilience, and advancing progress toward energy abundance across the continent.

“As The Rockefeller Foundation marks 60 years of its Africa Regional Office, it reflects a broader shift in the future of development. Amid aid cuts, geopolitical tensions, conflict, climate impacts, and political change, progress is becoming harder to sustain.
