RMAFC Praises Akwa Ibom, Highlights State’s Significant Impact on Nigeria

The Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMFAC) praised Akwa Ibom State for its strong governance and economic contribution, describing Governor Umo Eno’s leadership as “purposeful” and the state’s impact on Nigeria’s economy as “significant.”

During a courtesy visit to the Governor at Government House, Uyo, on Monday, Federal Commissioner Prof. Olusegun Adekunle Wright spoke on behalf of RMFAC, acknowledging Akwa Ibom’s vital role in the country’s economic well‑being.

Prof. Wright called Akwa Ibom a symbol of resilience, enterprise, and purposeful leadership, noting that the state has consistently ranked among Nigeria’s top contributors to national development.

He commended the people for their industriousness, peaceful nature, entrepreneurial spirit, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

He praised the state’s emergence as a model of transformational governance through sustained investment in infrastructure, healthcare, education, aviation, tourism, and human‑capital development.

Prof. Wright highlighted that the state’s achievements demonstrate what can be accomplished through prudent resource management, visionary leadership, and the collective determination of a people united by a shared aspiration for progress.

He revealed that his team was in Akwa Ibom for the South‑South verification and data‑collection exercise, aimed at standardising and improving national financial service delivery and the Commission’s mandate.

He thanked the State Government for its ongoing support and collaboration with RMFAC to ensure the successful completion of its assigned duties.

In response, Governor Eno welcomed the RMFAC team to the state, assuring them of a smooth stay and the backing of his administration for a successful exercise.

He thanked RMFAC for its positive remarks and pledges to pursue further development initiatives for the benefit of the people.

The governor also acknowledged the timely and smooth release of improved funds by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which will enable states to undertake quality development projects and improve the fortunes of their citizens.

The Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; Head of Civil Service, Mrs. Elsie Peters; Executive Assistant/Chief Delivery Adviser to the Governor, Mr. Aniefiok Johnson; Commissioners; and other government functionaries joined the Governor in receiving the RMFAC team.

The RMFAC delegation included Federal Commissioners Barr Imo Akpan, Hon. Rakiya Tanko Ayuba‑Haruna, Prof. Steve Ugba, Mr. Modu Aji‑Juluri, several directors, and other agency officials.
