Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara said his administration remains upbeat even after he withdrew from the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election.
According to the Daily Post, the governor announced his withdrawal before the APC primary, citing increasing political tension in the state.
The move drew varied responses from supporters, with some expressing disappointment while others supported the governor’s decision as necessary.
While inspecting an ongoing project on Friday, Fubara addressed his supporters and declared that he is in high spirits.
He assured residents that all current projects would continue and be completed, despite the recent political developments.
“We want to assure our people that notwithstanding the situation, every work that we have started will continue and be completed,” he said. “We are in high spirits and, as I always say, Rivers first.”
