Rivers: Fubara's ally Jumbo appears before screening committee

Victor Jumbo, who previously served as the factional Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, has appeared before the All Progressives Congress (APC) Screening Appeal Committee.

Jumbo, identified as an ally of Governor Sim Fubara, reportedly attended the committee to challenge the decision that disqualified him along with 64 other aspirants.

According to DAILY POST, Jumbo currently holds a seat in the House of Assembly.

The Screening Committee, chaired by Abdul Mahmud, previously confirmed the disqualification of aspirants associated with the state governor.

In the screening exercise held on Saturday, 33 aspirants were cleared, while 65 were disqualified.

The committee stated that the final list of cleared aspirants will be published after the appeal period ends.
