Former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Chidi Odinkalu, has indicated that Siminalayi Fubara has finally come to terms with the fact that politics was never his calling.
Odinkalu made the comment on Thursday in a post on X after Fubara withdrew from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary.
He argued that Fubara, who was a civil servant in 2022, should have resigned from public service within the timeframe required by the Electoral Act before seeking office.
Odinkalu noted that Fubara continued to serve as a civil servant long after aspirants were expected to step down under the Electoral Act, and he said the former governor is now free to return to the civil service, where he believes his prospects are bright.
Odinkalu wrote: “I am glad @SimFubaraKSC has finally brought clarity to issues & decided that politics is not for him. It never was.”
