Rivers: APC panel confirms disqualification of assembly candidates linked to Fubara

The Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly Screening Appeal Committee, led by Abdul Mahmud, confirmed that aspirants associated with Governor Siminalayi Fubara have been disqualified.

According to DAILY POST, approximately 33 aspirants who took part in the Saturday screening were cleared, whereas 65 were disqualified.

The committee identified the 65 disqualified aspirants as loyalists of Governor Fubara.

Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, the appeal committee chairman said that 19 of the disqualified aspirants have filed appeals.

He added that the deadline for submitting appeals is Wednesday.

The committee indicated that the final list of cleared aspirants will be announced after the appeal period closes.
