Rivers APC House of Assembly Screening Committee to Release Final List

The Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly Screening Appeal Committee has announced that it will soon publish the final list of aspirants who have been cleared.

Committee chairman Abdul Mahmud made the statement on Thursday.

Mahmud noted that 58 of the 65 aspirants who had been disqualified came to the party’s secretariat to appeal their status.

"98 persons were screened by the committee. Again, I must emphasize, I didn’t screen those 98 individuals nor did my colleagues," he said.

"Thirty-three were cleared to advance to the next stage, and 65 were not cleared for various reasons. I have reviewed their documents, examined the paperwork, and spoken to the appellants since yesterday. We spent close to ten hours straight hearing oral testimonies from those who appeared before us," Mahmud added.
