Real Madrid suffer fresh injury blow

Real Madrid have suffered a fresh injury blow ahead of their pre-season friendly with Fiorentina on Saturday.

The Los Blancos disclosed in a post via its website that centre-back Raul Asencio is set for a spell on the sidelines due to injury.

The 23-year-old suffered a rectus femoris muscle injury on his right leg, and he is expected to be back in September.

He started the 4-1 win over Leganes earlier this week, but was taken off after the first half of the encounter, with Mario Rivas replacing him.

Ansencio has been a regular for Real Madrid in the last two seasons, having come through the academy ranks.
