Real Madrid President Pérez Sets One Condition for Mourinho to Become Manager

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said that José Mourinho will only take on the club’s managerial role if he wins the upcoming presidential election this weekend.

Mourinho has already agreed to a three‑year contract, but the club has not yet officially announced him as the new manager.

According to Perez, the 63‑year‑old will be confirmed as manager only if he defeats Enrique Riquelme and retains the presidency.

The election was triggered after two consecutive seasons without a major trophy, and Perez has positioned Mourinho as the key figure in his campaign.

While other candidates, such as Riquelme, have outlined alternative plans, Perez remains the clear favorite to keep his position.

Benfica has already named former Fulham head coach Marco Silva as Mourinho’s replacement.
