Amobi Ezeaku, General Manager of Rangers International, urged the Coal City Flying Antelopes to set aside their 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title celebrations and focus on the upcoming 2026 President Federation Cup Round of 32 match against Rivers United, Completesports.com reports.

Rangers Shift Focus to Federation Cup

Ezeaku told the players that the Round of 32 fixture against the Pride of Rivers is a pivotal game that demands full seriousness and determination.

The administrator noted that a domestic double would not be out of reach for the nine‑time NPFL champions, emphasizing that success hinges on the players’ commitment and mindset heading into the Federation Cup tie.

Ezeaku spoke during the team’s training session on Wednesday evening after their return from Lagos following Sunday’s NPFL title celebrations.

“Congratulations, boys, on winning the NPFL title. But you should put that behind you right now and focus on the next game, which is the Federation Cup Round of 32 match against Rivers United,” Ezeaku said.

Rangers Aim for Historic Double

“You know it’s going to be a tough game because they will throw everything into the match. We denied them the league title, so they will come fully prepared to win this one. You must not allow your celebrations to be cut short. Is it a bad thing for us to win the double? So, all attention and focus should be geared towards the game,” the Rangers General Manager charged the players.

Federation Cup Round Of 32 Set for Uyo

The Round of 32 fixture is scheduled for the Nest of Champions – Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo – on Monday, 1 June 2026.
