Some of football’s biggest global stars are set to travel to Nigeria for the CAF Awards scheduled for October, Afrik‑Foot reports.
Each year the Confederation of African Football recognises the continent’s top performers, evaluating their contributions for club and country over the previous season.
This year the tradition will continue, with the ceremony rotating to a different African nation as usual.

Since then the event has moved to Egypt, Ghana and Morocco, and it is now slated to return to the continent’s most populous Black nation—Nigeria.

On Tuesday, CAF President Patrice Motsepe met Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Africa Forward Summit. The principal outcome of their discussion was the decision to stage the upcoming CAF Awards in Nigeria.
