PSC Refutes Fake Police Recruitment List and Cautions Applicants About Fraudsters

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has clarified that a police recruitment shortlist circulating on social media is fabricated, and it has urged the public to ignore it.

On Monday, Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs at the PSC in Abuja, said: “The attention of the Police Service Commission has been drawn to a fake list currently circulating on social media, purporting to be a shortlist of candidates scheduled for medical examination.”

The PSC stated that no such shortlist has ever been released. It added that the written examination is still in its final stages and that invitations for medical examinations will be sent to successful candidates in the coming days.

Applicants will receive notifications via email, SMS, the recruitment portal (npfapplication.psc.gov.ng), and other official PSC communication channels.

The commission reaffirmed its commitment to a merit‑based recruitment process, emphasizing that the effectiveness of the police force depends on the quality of its personnel.

Applicants and the public are advised to remain vigilant against fraudsters and misinformation.

All official updates on the recruitment process will be communicated exclusively through the PSC’s verified channels.
