On Thursday, a group of Ghanaian youths organized a peaceful protest in Accra under the banner of the “South Africa Must Go” campaign. They demanded that South African businesses operating in the country be shut down.

The demonstration followed the deadly xenophobic attacks in South Africa and has increased tensions in Ghana.

A viral video shows the protesters expressing their frustration with the attacks on Ghanaian residents in South Africa.

The demonstrators were seen in the video holding placards that read “Ghanaian lives matter” and chanting slogans as they approached the premises of the targeted companies.

This event comes weeks after Ghana, along with other African nations such as Nigeria, began evacuating their citizens from South Africa amid escalating tensions.

In Nigeria, the first group of returnees arrived on Thursday and were welcomed by government officials, including Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Sola Enikanolaiye.
