The anti‑insecurity protest has entered its third day in Nigeria’s capital.

Demonstrators demanding better security blocked a bridge on the Karu‑Nyanya expressway, the road that connects Nasarawa State with Abuja.

Carrying placards and singing anti‑government songs, the protesters called on the government to fulfill its duty to protect citizens.

They first gathered on a bridge in the area before marching toward Nyanya.

The demonstration created heavy traffic congestion on the Abuja‑Keffi Expressway, leaving many commuters stranded for hours.

Participants cited the rising numbers of kidnappings, violent attacks and general insecurity as reasons why life has become unbearable, urging authorities to take decisive action to safeguard lives and property.

Security forces were deployed to monitor the protest and manage traffic, while motorists were advised to use alternative routes because the demonstration disrupted movement along the corridor.

At the time of this report, there were no immediate reports of violence or casualties, although the blockade continued to affect traffic on the Karu‑Nyanya axis.
