Protest in Ibadan Demands Removal of Bandits and Terrorists After Oyo Abduction

Protesters took to the streets of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Tuesday, demanding the release of kidnapped schoolchildren and teachers.

The demonstration, titled “Bandits and terrorist must go,” is being led by social media influencer and activist Martins Vincent Otse, known online as VeryDarkMan.

Participants called for an unconditional and immediate release of the abducted children and teachers, who were taken by bandits a month ago.

VeryDarkMan had previously urged Ibadan residents to join the protest for the victims’ release.

Earlier, members of the Hausa community in Ibadan staged a protest over alleged ethnic profiling, following weeks of heightened suspicion directed at the community after the abduction of more than 40 students and teachers in Oriire local government area of the state.
