Nasarawa United technical adviser Mbwas Mangut praised his players after the President Federation Cup quarter‑final win over Plateau United.
The Solid Miners edged Gbenga Ogunbote’s side 2‑1 at the Bwari Sports Complex in Abuja to secure a spot in the last four.
Tough Contest In Bwari
Nasaraawa United dominated much of the first half before breaking the deadlock in the 44th minute when wing‑back Abubakar Abdullahi rose above the defence to head in John Victor’s deep throw‑in.
The Lafia‑based team seemed poised to win, but the Peace Boys equalised in the 85th minute.
Substitute Ada Umar, however, sealed the victory seven minutes later, giving Nasarawa United a hard‑fought win.

Mangut On Hard‑Earned Victory
Mangut reflected on the triumph after the match.
“To concede that late and still find a winner shows character, especially against my former employers, a tough and difficult opposition,” Mangut told the club’s media.
“Yes, Ada Umar changed the game the moment he came on. We are in the Semi‑Finals, and that’s all that matters.”
“We now turn our focus to our next task, and we pray and hope for the best.”
Nasarawa United will face Ikorodu City in the semi‑final.
