PR Times Africa Media Ltd formally presented its Award of Excellence to Morenike A. Van Jaarsveld for her Outstanding Women Empowerment Initiative of the Year, acknowledging her work in expanding economic opportunities and social inclusion for women.
The award was originally given at the 2025/2026 PR Times Africa Awards in Ghana, an event that honors individuals and organisations contributing significantly to Africa’s development. Van Jaarsveld could not attend the ceremony because of prior commitments.
To ensure she received the honour, a delegation from PR Times Africa Media Ltd visited her office in Abuja, where the award was presented during a special courtesy visit.
During the ceremony, Van Jaarsveld thanked the PR Times Africa team for recognising her efforts to promote women’s empowerment and economic inclusion.
She said the award motivates her to continue supporting initiatives that create opportunities for women and strengthen communities.
The Award of Excellence recognises her sustained advocacy for women’s empowerment, economic inclusion, and programmes that equip women with the resources, skills and opportunities needed to thrive. Her work has advanced discussions on gender equity, entrepreneurship, leadership development and sustainable community growth.
Representatives of PR Times Africa Media Ltd noted that the recognition reflects the growing influence of African leaders driving meaningful social change through innovative empowerment initiatives.
They highlighted that women’s economic participation remains a key pillar of Africa’s development agenda and that leaders such as Van Jaarsveld are helping shape a more inclusive future.
Van Jaarsveld expressed gratitude to PR Times Africa Media Ltd for the recognition, praised the organisation for celebrating excellence and impact across the continent, and indicated her willingness to maintain a positive relationship with the media organisation while looking forward to future collaborations that promote development, empowerment and African excellence.
