Portugal edged the Super Eagles 2–1 in a Wednesday international friendly, despite the Nigerian side’s spirited performance.

In the seventh minute, Onyemaechi created the Super Eagles’ first chance just outside the box, but his low shot was well saved by the Portuguese keeper.
Two minutes later, Ronaldo had a promising opportunity from a counter‑attack but failed to beat Okoye, even after a one‑on‑one duel.
Shortly after, Adams had a chance to break the deadlock, but his low left‑foot strike missed the target.
Portugal took the lead when Pedro Neto received a pass from Diogo Dalot inside the box and struck a low shot that beat Okoye.
Fernandes came close to doubling the advantage in the 33rd minute, but his left‑foot shot was palmed away for a corner by Okoye.
Trincão then had a chance for the hosts, but his left‑foot effort went just over the bar.
Nigeria drew level in the 37th minute thanks to Adams. He collected a pass from Dele‑Bashiru and fired a left‑foot shot under the keeper’s legs.
