FC Porto has decided not to exercise the €8 million buy‑out clause for Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi, Completesports.com reports.

Moffi joined the Portuguese champions on loan from French club OGC Nice in January.

The 26‑year‑old, together with fellow Ivory Coast international Jeremie Boga, was assaulted by Nice supporters last December after a defeat to his former club Lorient.

Following the incident, the duo pushed for a move away from the club, with Boga subsequently heading to Juventus on loan.

Moffi scored two goals and supplied one assist in 15 appearances for Porto, contributing to the Dragons’ league title win.

According to Portuguese news outlet A Bola, Porto attempted to renegotiate a lower fee with Nice for Moffi. Nice rejected the proposal, insisting on the previously agreed €8 million.

Porto has now turned its focus to signing two new forwards instead of pursuing a permanent transfer for Moffi.
