Following an on‑the‑spot assessment by the Commissioner of Police, the Yobe State Police Command has stepped up security at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp located in Dazigau, Nangere Local Government Area.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Dungus Abdulkarim reported that CP Usman Kanfani Jibrin headed the visit on Tuesday, an element of the command’s renewed strategy to safeguard strategic institutions and public facilities.

During the tour, CP Jibrin addressed corps members and emphasized the importance of vigilance.

“You must be security conscious, watch for early warning signals, and promptly report any suspicious activity to camp authorities and security personnel,” he said.

NYSC State Coordinator Mr Okochi Okpara, who received the commissioner and his entourage, called the partnership between the police command and the NYSC “indispensable” for safeguarding corps members and staff.

He praised the security personnel stationed at the camp for their efforts to maintain maximum security.

CP Jibrin inspected the camp perimeter and instructed the deployed officers to stay vigilant, professional, and proactive in carrying out their duties.

Later, members of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream I performed parade drills, Taekwondo demonstrations, and other training exercises, illustrating the discipline they received during orientation.
