Before the Eid‑al‑Adha celebrations, the Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed that it will provide sufficient security to allow residents to continue their daily activities without interruption.

DSP Mansir Hassan, the command’s spokesman, relayed a statement from Commissioner of Police CP Muhammad Rabiu, saying that comprehensive measures are in place to protect lives and property before, during, and after the festivities.

In response, the Commissioner ordered the deployment of police officers and operational resources to key locations throughout the state. These include Eid prayer grounds, markets, recreational centres, highways, and other public venues expected to experience heavy foot and vehicle traffic during the celebrations, all aimed at maintaining a peaceful environment.

The statement added, “The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit has also been tasked with conducting thorough security sweeps of Eid grounds and other strategic public areas to prevent any security breach.”

Police have positioned tactical teams along the Abuja–Kaduna Highway to enhance surveillance, facilitate smooth travel for passengers, and reduce the traffic congestion that typically occurs during festive periods.

The police urged citizens to celebrate peacefully and obey the law, while advising residents to stay alert, avoid actions that could disturb public order, and cooperate with the deployed security personnel.

The statement also reminded parents and guardians to supervise their children and discourage reckless behaviour, and urged motorists to exercise patience, follow traffic regulations, and drive cautiously throughout the holiday period.
