Police recover large quantities of illicit drugs from abandoned vehicle in Delta.

Delta State Police Command operatives seized a large quantity of illicit drugs from an abandoned Toyota Sienna.

The driver, however, fled the scene.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, gave a statement on Tuesday.

“During a routine search and questioning, the driver abruptly abandoned the vehicle and ran into a nearby bush,” Edafe said. “Despite an immediate pursuit by the operatives, the suspect escaped.”

“A thorough search of the abandoned vehicle uncovered a substantial amount of substances suspected to be illicit drugs, including Codeine, Tramadol, Swinol, Man G, and Vega,” the statement continued. “The exhibits have been taken into custody, and investigations have begun to identify, locate, and arrest the fleeing suspect.”
