Police arrest 8 officers for kidnapping, armed robbery, other offences

Eight police officers have been detained by the police on charges of various offences, while other suspects remain at large.

The suspects, who serve in the state police Command and Zone 16 Bayelsa, were arrested for extortion, kidnapping, armed robbery and official corruption.

Addressing the media, Force Public Relations Officer Anthony Okon Placid, a Deputy Commissioner of Police, said the suspects abused the authority granted to them by the force.
