PFN calls for a three‑day fast and prayer to address insecurity and concerns about 2027.

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) announced a three‑day nationwide fasting and prayer initiative to address escalating insecurity, violence, economic hardship, and rising concerns about Nigeria’s political outlook ahead of the 2027 elections.

The programme, scheduled from 22 to 24 May 2026, seeks divine intervention for peace, healing, national stability, economic recovery, and credible elections, amid growing fears of violence, social tension, and uncertainty nationwide.

PFN National Publicity Secretary Sylvanus Ukafia released the decision in a statement following a meeting of the Fellowship’s National Executive Council (NEC).

The statement said the council arrived at the decision after extensive prayerful deliberations on the nation's condition and the Church’s role at this pivotal moment in Nigerian history.

“This is a defining moment for the Church to rise in unity and intercession for the nation,” the Fellowship stated.

PFN voiced concern over ongoing violence, attacks on communities and places of worship, and the worsening economic hardship affecting millions.

“We believe that as the Church unites in prayer, God will intervene in the
