The Obidient Movement has called Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi a “talk‑and‑do” leader.

Yunusa Tanko, the movement’s National Coordinator, said the remark in an interview on Arise Television on Sunday, citing Obi’s tenure as governor of Anambra State as proof of his claims.

Tanko was responding to the NDC’s announcement that Obi would be its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.

According to DAILY POST, the NDC declared Obi its candidate on Saturday.

“Peter Obi is different because he doesn’t just make promises; he keeps them and wants Nigerians to hold him accountable,” Tanko said. “His record as governor reflects that commitment. His pledge to serve only four years was publicly affirmed at the party level, and the decision was also documented during the party’s affirmation process, including a resolution on zoning after his term.”

“For supporters, this is a clear signal that what he promises is what he intends to do, and it reinforces his message of accountability and trust in leadership,” Tanko added.

After his official confirmation as the NDC presidential candidate, Obi announced former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso as his running mate.
