The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) has confirmed the death of an unidentified pedestrian who was involved in an accident on the Imowo‑Ibadan road heading into Ijebu Ode.
According to DAILY POST, the victim was struck by a Toyota Coaster bus while attempting to cross the road on Sunday.
TRACE’s public relations officer, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said the incident occurred at about 4:45 p.m. and caused traffic congestion on the route due to the bus blocking the road.
Akinbiyi added that the deceased allegedly did not check the opposite side of the road before crossing.
TRACE operatives and police officers from the Obalende Division were dispatched immediately to the scene to manage traffic and conduct rescue operations.
“TRACE operatives assisted in carrying the presumed dead into the OGSAS ambulance, while the body was subsequently conveyed to the General Hospital mortuary, Ijebu Ode,” the statement read.
The agency noted that vehicular movement was restored, the bus was removed, and it was taken to the Police Area Command in Igbeba for further investigation.
