In Tunga Ward of Awe Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended candidate Jamilu Ibrahim Idris, who was contesting the Awe/Doma/Keana Federal Constituency, citing repeated misconduct that the party says damages its reputation.

The ward executive committee released a statement outlining the reasons for the suspension, alleging that Idris had undertaken actions that could tarnish senior party leaders and create turmoil within the party structure.

According to the statement, Idris filed several petitions against prominent party figures on what the committee described as false claims, a move it said intensified tension, mistrust and political division among members.

Ward officials said the suspension was necessary to protect the party’s unity and integrity, and to prevent what they termed “retrogressive political conduct” from escalating further.

Under the disciplinary process, Idris was suspended for one month and referred to the Ward Disciplinary Committee (WDC) for further investigation and possible sanctions.

The statement also ordered him to refrain from all party‑related activities until the outcome of the disciplinary proceedings is determined.
