JOS — Former Plateau State Governor and senior statesman Senator Jonah David Jang said the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) primary elections were credible, transparent and democratic, contrasting them with what he described as “results written in hotel rooms” by other parties.
Through a statement issued Friday by his media consultant, Comrade Clinton Garuba, Jang congratulated the PDP on the successful conduct of its primaries nationwide, especially in Plateau State where Hon. Sunday Garba Biggs was selected as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The former governor attributed the smooth process to the PDP’s high level of organization, unity and internal democracy.
“There is no doubt that the difference in approach, planning and execution as witnessed during the primary elections of the PDP and that of the other political party was like night and day,” he said.
Jang noted that while the PDP allowed members’ wishes to prevail through a transparent process, some parties resorted to imposition and impunity, producing “results that were merely written in hotel rooms despite elections being held on the field.”
He said the PDP had again demonstrated its commitment to democratic ideals and the supremacy of the people’s mandate.
The elder statesman also warned anyone presenting themselves as a factional member of the PDP in Plateau State to stop actions that could destabilize the party, affirming that the PDP in the state remains united under Chief Raymond Dabo’s leadership.
