The Gombe State Chapter of the All Politicians Congress (APC) has stated that former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Ali Pantami, remains a party member.
During a press conference held on Tuesday in Gombe, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Moses Kyari, argued that due process was not observed in relation to Pantami’s alleged resignation.
This statement followed Pantami’s recent emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Gombe State, after the APC primary produced Jamilu Gwamna.
Kyari explained that the APC executive committee in Pantami’s ward had previously clarified that it had neither received nor deliberated on any resignation letter purportedly submitted by the former minister.
He added that, according to the APC Constitution, INEC guidelines, and the Electoral Act, Pantami remains an APC member until all appropriate procedures are completed and verified.
“As you may recall, twenty‑five out of the twenty‑seven members of the Ward Executive Committee publicly stated that they neither saw nor deliberated on any resignation letter purportedly submitted by Professor Ali Isa Pantami,” Kyari said.
“They maintained that the claim was merely a fabrication orchestrated without the knowledge or approval of the Ward Executive Committee. Despite repeated requests, members of the Ward Executive Committee have not been provided with a copy of the said letter.”
“It is therefore our position that Professor Ali Isa Pantami remains a member of the APC until all due processes are properly followed and verified,” Kyari added.
