João Palhinha has confirmed his Tottenham exit after the club decided not to trigger the £22 million (€30m) permanent purchase option following his loan spell from Bayern Munich.
The Portuguese midfielder posted an emotional farewell message expressing heartfelt gratitude to the fans and staff.

Despite a successful loan spell where he played a crucial role in saving Spurs from relegation, Tottenham opted against a permanent transfer.
The club chose to invest heavily in other midfield targets, including Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali.
In a classy post shared via his Instagram account, Palhinha wrote: “Dear COYS, I am writing this message with heartfelt gratitude for all the kindness and support you have always shown me throughout my time at this special club.
“Representing Tottenham has had a profound impact on my life, not only professionally but also personally, and it is something I will carry with me forever.
He continued: “London gave me more than a professional career, it gave me two homes that I will always carry in my heart.

The 30-year-old is under contract until 2028 and a move to Sporting has been suggested for the midfielder who is very unlikely to stay at Bayern ahead of the new campaign.
