Oyo State Government demolished a market at Mobil, along Ring Road in Ibadan, on Monday.
Officials said the market had become a hideout for criminal activity.
This action followed the demolition of a three‑bedroom bungalow in Lako, a community on the Aiyegun‑Anaye road in Ibadan, a week earlier.
The bungalow had been alleged to serve as a refuge for suspected kidnappers who abducted the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her children.
Meanwhile, the state government urged landlords, housing agents and residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activity in their areas.
It reaffirmed its zero‑tolerance stance against insecurity.
Bandits recently attacked the state, kidnapping dozens of schoolchildren and teachers, one of whom was later killed while in captivity.
At the time of reporting, the abductees remain in the hands of the bandits.
