Oyo APC approves five senatorial candidates and disqualifies five others

The APC primaries committee in Oyo State has approved five candidates to contest the senatorial seats in the upcoming elections.

According to a document that circulated online, the approved aspirants are Remi Oseni, the lawmaker for Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency; Yunus Akintunde, the current senator for Oyo Central; Gbenga Adegbola; Adeolu Akande; and Hannah Ogunesan.

The same document also listed seven aspirants who were disqualified from the race.

Among those who were not cleared are Wasiu Ajimobi and Kolapo Kola‑Daisi, who is connected by marriage to the late former Governor of Oyo State.

Earlier, Mojeed Alabi, the chairman of the APC Primaries Committee in Oyo State, confirmed in a press briefing that some aspirants had been approved while others were disqualified. He did not disclose the names of the disqualified candidates at that time.
