Oyeyemi and Ugboma to Deliver Lecture on Multi‑Modal Transport Safety

Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, National President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation (CILT), and Prof. Ogochukwu Ugboma, Dean of the School of Transportation and Logistics at Lagos State University (LASU), will headline the 12th Nigeria Transport Lecture (NTL) on Thursday, June 18, 2026, in Lagos.

The lecture, organized annually by Transport Day Media—a specialized platform for transportation and logistics reporting and analysis—will focus on the theme: “Multi‑modal Transportation Safety in Nigeria: Prospects, Challenges & Contribution to National Growth.”

Held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, the event is expected to bring together key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors of the transport and logistics industry to discuss essential safety issues and the policy frameworks needed to strengthen Nigeria’s multi‑modal transportation system.

Past editions of the Nigeria Transport Lecture have featured prominent industry leaders and policymakers, including former Director‑General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dakuku Peterside; former Federal Permanent Secretary, Dr. Anthonia Ekpa; former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi; and current Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Dr. Kayode Opeifa, among others.

Transport Day Media editor Mr. Frank Kintum explained that the lecture remains a strategic platform for addressing pressing issues within the transportation and logistics sector.

“Every year, we use the lecture as a platform to discuss contemporary issues in the industry. This year, we settled on multi‑modal transportation safety because without safety, the various multi‑modal transport initiatives by governments at different levels may be undermined,” he said.

Kintum added that the event reflects Transport Day Media’s commitment to building a sustainable and efficient transport and logistics industry in Nigeria and across Africa.
