Oyebola warns tax practitioners that Steel is free of sharp practices

Tax specialist Olayinka Oyebola warned practitioners to avoid questionable practices that could damage their reputation and that of the profession.

Oyebola made the remarks during the 28th Annual Tax Conference, hosted by the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria in Abuja.

According to DAILY POST, the conference—titled “Tax Reforms and Global Relevance: Positioning Nigeria’s Tax System for a Sustainable Future”—brought together scholars, experts and practitioners.

In a statement released to DAILY POST after the Saturday event, Oyebola urged Nigerian tax professionals to maintain ethical conduct and integrity in all operations.

He said the conference theme was fitting and would help elevate the practice, aligning it with global best practices.

Oyebola added that his experience has shown the country possesses experts capable of shaping the industry and competing with peers worldwide.

He also reaffirmed his firm’s dedication to following standard procedures consistent with international best practices.

Oyebola warned tax experts to be cautious of individuals who act as “sharks,” attempting to mislead and undermine honest practitioners.

He concluded by challenging the profession to uphold professionalism and integrity.
