Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, praised the large number of voters who participated in the governorship election, calling the turnout a strong sign of the public’s confidence in democracy and effective governance.

After casting his vote at Ward 006, Polling Unit 003, Oyebanji’s Compound in the Okelele Area of Ikogosi-Ekiti, the governor spoke with journalists.

He expressed satisfaction with how the election was conducted in his community, noting that voters arrived early and behaved peacefully while waiting to exercise their franchise.

Reports from various parts of the state indicated that many polling units recorded impressive turnout, with eligible voters determined to take part in the process.

According to Oyebanji, the enthusiasm shown by residents highlighted their confidence in the electoral system and their commitment to shaping the state’s future through the ballot.

The governor applauded voters for maintaining order and decorum, urging them to preserve the peaceful atmosphere throughout voting, sorting, counting, and collation of results.

He also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission officials and security agencies for their efforts in ensuring a smooth process in many communities.

Oyebanji said the peaceful conduct of the exercise was encouraging and expressed optimism that the final outcome would reflect the freely expressed will of Ekiti people.

He urged political parties, candidates, and their supporters to continue upholding democratic values and respecting the sanctity of the electoral process.
