Oyebanji Outperforms Rivals at Senate Leader Bamidele’s Polling Unit in Ekiti

Ekiti State Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Biodun Oyebanji achieved a clear win at the polling station of Senate Leader Senator Opeyemi Bamidele during Saturday’s state governorship election.

At the polling unit, Presiding Officer Mrs. Elizabeth Oregbemeh announced that Oyebanji received 164 votes, outpacing his nearest rival, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Dr. Wole Oluyede, who secured eight votes.

She also reported that Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidate Mr. Ayodeji Ojo garnered one vote.

Senator Bamidele earlier expressed satisfaction with the election process, noting the encouraging voter turnout across the state.

The Senate Leader praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the timely deployment of electoral staff and materials throughout Ekiti’s 16 local government areas.

INEC figures show that Ekiti State has 1,059,360 registered voters, of whom 1,028,929 collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) before the election.
