David Adeleke, known professionally as Davido, has warned of a suspected plan to deregister the Accord Party before the upcoming Osun State governorship election.

The musician made the claim in a post on X on Thursday.

He urged that the reasons for deregistration be clarified and called for a free and fair election, writing: “Deregister Accord party for what? Cowards let’s go to the field.”

The statement follows a post from 48 hours earlier in which Davido criticized Gboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former governor of Osun State, for allegedly orchestrating a desperate scheme.

According to DAILY POST, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke—Davido’s uncle—announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in December 2025 amid a national leadership crisis and legal dispute, and subsequently joined the Accord Party to seek re‑election.

The Osun State governorship election is scheduled for August 15, 2026.
